2025 Southeast (SEPLA) Workshop & Business Meeting

Description
You are invited to register for a regional workshop on Friday, December 5 at the Upper Dublin Public Library, 520 Virginia Dr, Fort Washington, PA 19034.
In addition to two hours of formal presentations, the workshop will include time for networking with colleagues, an “Ask Anything” to our panel, and presentation of the South East Chapter of the Pennsylvania Library Association (SEPLA) Dobbins Award and Support Staff Awards. Coffee will be available during registration, and a boxed lunch is included with your registration.

Join us for a fireside chat with Q&A and behind the scenes look with a local publisher. How are they handling AI and copyright concerns, evolutions in library distribution, what are typical timelines for publishing, how can libraries engage with authors, communities, and consumable content books.

11:00 am – 12:00 pm Session 2: Make it Memorable: Effective Communication Between Library Leadership and Staff with Christina Steffy
Have you told your staff members something only to find out later they forgot what was expected? Did your manager ask you to do something but was unclear about their expectations? Could a recent meeting have been an email? These situations happen frequently, but they don’t have to. This session will provide an overview of the types of communication in an organization followed by tips for effectively communicating with staff so information is understood, documented, and more easily retained.

Cancellations before Nov. 21 are subject to a $10 processing fee. Cancellations after Nov. 21 are not eligible for a refund, but may be transferred to another person.
