The Upper Darby Township & Sellers Memorial Free Public Library, a system of three library locations in Upper Darby Township and a member of Delaware County Libraries, has an immediate opening for our next Branch Manager for the Municipal location. An important member of the management team, the Branch Manager provides professional leadership and supervision in a community library with focus on encouraging visits, circulation, program attendance, and use of digital resources. The successful candidate will inspire our community to become lifelong learners through books, technology, and programming. The work requires the use of professional skill, initiative and independent judgment. It also involves staff training, development and performance evaluation, and community outreach. They will manage a staff and facilities in a stand-alone building.

The Municipal Branch is small but mighty, conveniently situated on the SEPTA D1 Route 101/D2 Route 102 trolley line leading to the 69^th Street Terminal. Municipal consistently holds the top spots in public computer usage in Delaware County, and is a haven for our culturally and economically diverse community.

This is a full time, exempt position (37.5 hours/week, evenings and weekends included) reporting to the Director of Library Services. Benefits include medical and dental insurance with a 10% employee contribution, paid vacation, sick, and personal days, and immediate employee participation in the library’s TIAA retirement plan with an employer contribution after a year of service. The Upper Darby Township & Sellers Memorial Free Public Library consists of three locations: Sellers Memorial Branch at 76 South State Road and Municipal Branch at 501 Bywood Avenue, both in Upper Darby, PA, and Primos Branch at 409 Ashland Avenue in Secane, PA. This Branch Manager will be at the Municipal location, and will be required to travel to all libraries. Upper Darby Township is a community of 85,000 residents in the Philadelphia-metro region.
