Elizabeth Ann Clark Funk died Nov. 26, 2025, at The Grand Residence at Upper St. Clair, where she had been living since moving from her longtime home in Harrisburg.
The daughter of the late Harry and Esther Clark was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Pottstown, Pa., where she was valedictorian of the Owen J. Roberts High School Class of 1956. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Juniata College in 1960 and Master of Science degree from Drexel Institute of Technology in 1964.
In 2003, she retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Library Development after 36 years. She spent much of her career visiting local libraries throughout the state, offering advisory services to help them grow and keep up with technological advances.
On April 2, 1960, she married James R. Funk, who passed away in 2020, shortly before they would have celebrated their 60th anniversary.
She is survived by her sister, Cynthia (George) Pavlik of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Harry (Tammy) of Upper St. Clair and Thomas of Los Angeles; grandsons Keenan, Robert and Cody Funk of the Pittsburgh area and Dustin Funk of Orlando, Fla.; great-grandchildren Ethan, Emma, Sawyer and Savannah Funk; nephew and niece, Greg Pavlik and Christina Bergstrand, and their children; brother-in-law John Funk; and daughter-in-law Isabelle Ruen.
Mrs. Funk was a devout member of First Church of the Brethren, 219 Hummel St., Harrisburg, Pa. 17104. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name can be made to the church.
Arrangements entrusted to Beinhauer Family Services (724-941-3211). The Funk family plans a private memorial.
